Educational Qualification:-

• A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized University.

SELECTION PROCEDURE/SCHEME:-

(i) Written Examination:-  The written examination will be conducted by UPSC on 04 August 2024  and will comprise two papers.

Exam Duration:- 

Paper I:- Will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 P.M and,

Paper II:- will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 P.M

(ii) Physical Efficiency Tests/ Medical Standards Tests.

(iii) Interview/Personality Test:- The Interview/Personality Test will carry (150 Marks).

(iv) Final Selection / Merit Basis:- The merit list will be based on marks obtained by the applicants in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test. 

SYLLABUS FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION:-

PAPER I:- General Ability and Intelligence

1. General Mental Ability:- The questions will appear from logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude including numerical ability, and data interpretation. 

2. General Science:-  General awareness, scientific temper, comprehension, and appreciation of scientific phenomena of everyday observation including new areas of importance like Information Technology, Environmental Science,  and Biotechnology.

3. Current Events of National and International Importance:- Awareness of current events of national and international importance in the broad areas of music, culture, literature, arts, sports, societal, governance, and developmental issues, business, industry, globalization, and interplay among nations.

4. Indian Polity and Economy:- Knowledge of the Country’s political system and the Constitution of India, social systems and economic development in India, public administration, regional, human rights including its indicators, and international security issues.

5. History of India:-  Social, economic, and political aspects and will include the areas of growth of nationalism and freedom movement.

6. Indian and World Geography:- Questions will cover physical, social, and economic aspects of geography about  India and the World.

NOTE-II:- There will be minimum qualifying marks Paper-I will be checked first and evaluation of Paper-II will be done only of those applicants who will get the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I.

Note:- (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by an applicant in the Objective Type Question Paper I.

PAPER II:- General Studies, Essay and Comprehension

Part-A:-  Essay questions will be in long narrative form either in Hindi or English totaling (80 Marks). 

Topics will be from modern Indian history, especially the freedom struggle, geography, polity and economy, knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.

 Part-B:- Comprehension, precis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only (Marks 120).

The topics will include Comprehension passages, precise writing skills, developing counterarguments, Easy grammar, and other aspects of language testing.

HOW TO APPLY ONLINE:- 

• It is necessary for the candidates to register him/her first at the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, which is available on the Official website.
• Candidates apply online through the official website https://www.upsconline.nic.in.
• The applicant must register himself/herself first on the official website, 

• then start filling up the online application for the examination.
• OTRs have to register only once in their lifetime; it can be done anytime throughout the year.
• If the applicant is already registered, he/she can proceed by filling up the online application, filling in all the details, upload all the required scanned photos/signatures and all other details.
