Age Limit and Relaxation:-

JRF:-  Not more than 30 years as of the 01st day of the month in which the examination is 01 June 2024.

NOTE:- Relaxation for OBC-NCL,/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories as per Rules.

(ii) Assistant Professor:- There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor. 

(iii) Admission for PhD:- There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Admission to PhD.

Educational Qualification:-

General/Unreserved/General-EWS:- Applicants who have secured at least 55% marks in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from any universities/institutions recognized by UGC.

NCL/ SC / ST / PwD / Third gender:-  50%

NOTE:- 4 Year Bachelor Degree Candidate Also Eligible with a minimum 75% and reserve category students have 5% relaxation.

Mode of Examination:- The Examination shall be conducted in OMR-based mode only.

Examination pattern:-

The exam will consist of two papers both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers.

I	100	50	Teaching/ research aptitude, reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the Candidate.
II	200	100	This will be based on the subject selected by the applicant and will assess domain knowledge.

Marking Scheme:-

• Each question will carry 02 (two) marks. 
• There is no negative marking for incorrect responses. 
• No marks will be given for questions unanswered/un-attempted. 
• If a question is found to be incorrect and the Question is dropped, then two marks (+2) will be given to only those candidates who have attempted the questions. Due to human error or technical error.

Instructions for filling Online Application Form:-

Step-1:- Complete Online Registration using your Email ID and Mobile No. 

Step 2:- Complete the Online Application Form and write down the Application Number.

Upload scanned images of:- 

• (i) current photograph (file size 10KB – 200KB) either in color or black & white with 80% face (without mask).
• (ii) candidate’s signature (file size: 4KB – 30KB) 

Step 3:- Pay the fee using a Bank/ Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI 

• Download, save, and print a copy of the Confirmation Page.
